Fun with our Friends!

My hubby and me!
Casey and Lee
Matt and Ambrah
A few days before Christmas, we had a fun night out with our friends.......a new tradition!! We went to The Melting Pot and had the best dinner and of course with Matt and Josh there the best entertainment! Thanks for a fun night, can't wait to get our dinners up and going again!

Thankfully we were still able to go......about 45 minutes before we were supposed to leave Delanie came down with the stomach flu! Yes again! Josh's Mom and Dad came to the rescue and still came over to keep Delanie. (Thank you Jer and Di, you are the best!)
This is our second round of the stomach flu, have I mentioned how much I hate vomit?? Who does?
We are out of town right now and on the way, I got the flu again (most likely from Delanie)...........that night Josh got it...........last night my Dad had it...............and....right now Josh has taken my Aunt to the hospital because she has it! Can you believe it? My Aunt has had a previous surgery and she cannot get physically sick so Josh took her to get a shot!
It has been quite a fun trip, if you can imagine! I have cleaned and cleaned and we are spraying Lysol like crazy!!

I will post some Christmas pics when we get home! The camera is in the room where Delanie is sleeping! I am sure it will keep you on your toes waiting for the pics......
More to come...

Christmas Card Pics

A couple of weeks ago, we attempted to get some picture of Delanie and Cody (our dog) in front of our Christmas tree. It was quite entertaining and quite a task, but a few turned out pretty cute! We ended up using a couple of them on our Christmas cards, which some of you will get, but for anyone else interested, hope you enjoyed!

We are in the midst of another round of Delanie coughing, it began Tuesday night with a runny nose and by Thursday it was a full blown nasty sounding cough! After spending some time calling back and forth with the Dr.'s office, we finally went yesterday and they gave us a breathing machine (like an inhaler for babies)....which we put albuterol in. We are to use it every 4 hours as needed. So far, we have used it twice and it seems to help a little! Thankfully she is not running a fever and is overall her normal self! Pray that she gets over this quick so we are all well during Christmas!

That is all for now.......

Delanie's 1st Haircut!!!!!

Delanie, before.....notice the hands in the mouth
she has been cutting 2 teeth the past 2 weeks!! Fun, Fun!
D sat on my lap, she did not want to sit by herself,
she is a Momma's girl!!
Look at my new bangs!!!
One more snip on top and we're done!!

All done! I'll have to post another close up later.
The girls at the salon took the pics, so thanks so much!
Also, my Mom came and video taped the whole thing!!
Thanks Mom!!

Delanie had her first haircut yesterday!! I really struggled with having her hair cut, but it was time! Due to the cold weather, and the need to wear hoods and hats, we decided that Delanie's hair was hanging in her face too much! I go to a great salon in Independence called "Blondie's" it is just down from Tim's pizza on 40 highway! (little plug for my girls at Blondie's!) Jennie has been doing my hair for years, so we made Delanie's appointment with her!
Delanie did great and has a cute new look!!

By the way, Delanie will be 15 months old tomorrow, it seems almost unreal!!
The next bit of information may bore you, but I am including it all so that we don't forget this phase of her life!

Here are some things that she does now......
Delanie weighs about 25 lbs.......yes she likes to eat! :)
Delanie talks all the time, she says....... Momma, Daddy, D for Cody, Nana, Papaw, Di Di, Papaw, more, cracker, cookie, ball, again, bath, bubble, apple, banana, baby, tree, feet, eyes, Hi, Bye Bye, Book (sounds more like read with a b), movie, snow, snowman (that one is hilarious, and recently this week she says "lu jah" for Hallelujah! She does a pretty good job at saying......Jenny, Nate, bubby for all the kids, Shelley , Jamie, Lee, Casey (Tatsey), Matt, Ambrah....(bambah)
I am sure I am missing something because the girl likes to talk and will attempt to say anything.... she continues to amaze us daily!

Delanie loves to play with her toys in our hearth room.... most recently her new nativity set (thanks Mr. Lee and Miss Casey) She also loves to read books, if you start reading you had better plan on about 10 to 15 minutes! She also loves going "down" which is downstairs! Delanie and Daddy wrestle and she also has some riding toys that she asks us to push her around!
Delanie also loves playing with her cousins....Payton, Cade, and Mason! (Payton is so good with her, just like a little Mommy)
Most of all, she is crazy about her Nana Debbie and Grandma Di Di (Dianna)

As I said earlier, Delanie loves to eat and so far it is a good eater..........food that she likes include:
bananas, apples, blueberries, peaches, pears, grapes, yogurt, applesauce, turkey, ham, cheese, Gerber ravioli, spaghetti, peas, carrots, green beans (sometimes), chicken nuggets, french fries, oatmeal, waffles, pancakes, eggs, toast, grilled cheese, puffs, crackers, cookies (Gerber!), hot dogs (in small pieces of course), and the list can go on because we have her try most things that we cook here at home!

Delanie is so much fun and keeps us laughing all of the time! She makes the funniest faces and does the funniest things!

That is all for now.....

Christmas In the Park

Josh and Lee trying to figure out where to go!

Pics by Lee......great job!!
Since Josh was driving, I handed the camera to Lee
and he took his time to take perfect pics!

The girls in the back!

On Sunday evening our friends Lee and Casey went with us to Christmas in the Park! It was so neat, Delanie loved the lights, but most of all she loved when Miss Casey sang the Itsy Bitsy Spider over and over and over!!
We (the girls) sang Carols in the truck to keep Delanie happy while Josh and Lee figured out where we were going. It was my idea and I did not even check to see the exact location! Ooops!!
What a fun night and new tradition, it will have to happen year after year!

Get well Papaw!!

If you can read the sign Cody is wearing...
it says......
Get well soon Papaw, we love You!!!

We have many reasons to be thankful, but this week, thankful has taken on new meaning!
Wednesday morning Josh's Dad, Jerry, had a massive heart attack. Praise the Lord, he got to the hospital in time to have a successful stint procedure. We know that our Father, the Great Physician was by his side protecting his body. Thank you Lord for taking care of our Dad!! Jerry has spent a couple of days in ICU and today will be transferred to a room. Pray for him to have a quick recovery and to regain his strength and energy....also pray for my Mother-in-law, Dianna, as she is wearing down from spending time at the hospital. I have been praying for her time to be stretched so that she can get her work done and for her energy and endurance! Thank you for lifting up our family! May the Lord receive all of the Glory!

Nice try though!!

Grandma Dianna (aka, Di-Di) playing with Delanie, Payton, and Cade!

Delanie watching the other kids dance

On Thanksgiving Day we headed up the street to Jenny and Nate's house for lunch with the family! Delanie had so much fun playing with the kids! The food was very yummy too!

No pics around here!

I had the flu this weekend! Yuck!! Thankfully I am on the mend, and should be back to 100% tomorrow! I spent all day Saturday in the bed! Josh had full-time daddy duty! He and Delanie spent the entire day playing and catering to me! Sunday, I was at least out of bed.....but still needing to lay around! Today was much better, I even cooked dinner! (well let me say the crock pot cooked dinner!) So, life is back to normal in the Ward household!
I hope to post a few Thanksgiving posts later this week! Oh, and we will be decorating for Christmas too, can't wait!!!

Silly Girl!

On Sunday night, we headed to my Mom and Dad's to celebrate the birthday's this month and Thanksgiving, since we will all be apart! My Mom cooked a wonderful dinner, it was so good!!! Delanie ate almost everything on her plate.....turkey, sweet potatoes, dressing, macaroni and cheese, and some of a roll! That is my girl!!
The kids played and took baths, but one of Delanie's favorite things to do is to put on my Mom's reading glasses......she looks so cute in them, I just had to share!

Delanie's bad cough is still here, she has basically had a cough her entire life! After another trip to the Dr.'s office we are now investigating the cause! But, the most prominent problem is her double ear infection.....yes you heard me.....double ear infection! Josh and I had no idea, some kind of parents we are huh! She has had many illnesses and never once an ear infection, so we did not even suspect one! D is now on meds and we hope she continues to get better this week! As for the cough, it is a work in progress!

Playdate with Brax......

Brax is so tall and so cute!!

Last Friday, Delanie and I met my friend from high school, Val, and her son Brax! We took the kids to Paradise Park and had a blast! It is still a bit over their heads, but we managed and they had a great time exploring!

Enjoying the water station!

After paradise park, Val and Brax headed to our house for more play time! Val got some great pics of the kids about to kiss and hug each other! I think Delanie enjoyed it, ha, ha! To see these photos check out Val's blog.....you can link to it from our blog.....Team Hill!

Daddy's girl!

Daddy reading to Delanie while home for a quick lunch!

My awesome husband continues to amaze me as Daddy to our precious girl! I knew he would be a great Dad, no doubt, but he has already exceeded my expectations and continues to amaze me everyday! Delanie is in love with her Daddy, isn't that the way it should be :) She asks about him at least 5 times a day and I remind her that he is at work, but will be home soon!

We have a very routine week around here, Delanie has a terrible cough, which is not out of the ordinary for her! So, sleep has been quite interesting around here.....but she is napping now and has been for almost 3 hours! I am not quite sure what to do with myself!

Hopefully she is going to get well by the end of the week, so she can meet her future boyfriend Brax for a play date!

Halloween Pics!

Delanie, our little ladybug, had a fun Halloween night.....despite the fact that she is cutting more teeth and a bit crabby!! We made several stops to see our family and friends. First we went by Aunt Jenny's (AKA, Nenny's) and Uncle Nate's to take pics with D's cousin's Payton and Cade......they were so cute. Cade was a rapper and a cute one at that and Payton was a beautiful witch! After that, we headed to see Grandma Di Di.......we played for a few minutes then headed to pick up Nana so we could catch up with Aunt Shelley and cousin Mason to take a few pics. Mason was of course a very cute Batman!! We tried to get a few pics with Mase, but Delanie was not being very cooperative!! We ended our night hanging out with Mr. Lee and Miss Casey!! Delanie loves their house!! I have always heard that their neighborhood has many kids, but I have truly never seen so many out.......it was like someone opened the gate!! I am pretty sure Lee and Casey did not sit down the whole night because they were constantly handing out candy!

All of the guys in my family were in a fishing tournament this weekend.....so it was just us girls having fun!
A big thanks to Nana, who helped with D the whole weekend while Daddy was away! We had fun shopping and playing together!

More to come later this week......we have a play date with our future boyfriend....Brax!!

Pumpkin Patch!

Today we headed to Faulkner's Pumpkin Patch, I think we waited too long in the season to go......it was slim pickins'!!
My Mom had the day off, so she and my Dad picked up Mason and then came by to get Delanie and me! Might I mention, the stomach bug has cycled through the family....Dad, my Mom, now my sister-in-law (who works with kids).....hopefully it will end!!
The kids had fun, Delanie had more fun picking up rocks than anything! Mason got to pick out a big pumpkin, it weighed 15 lbs!
Mason and I also got to ride the mini tractors....they were big...yes I did ride one!
Since the pumpkin patch was not all that we thought, after a quick lunch we headed to the playground at Legacy Park, it was so nice.....the kids had so much fun! What a beautiful day....can't believe it is almost November!
I'll post some Halloween pics this weekend!

Stomach Fun :)

The pic is of Delanie "helping" me do laundry.....she decided it would be fun to get in the basket! Silly girl!
Well it is official, we have had our first stomach bug/flu! I went to a Women's Retreat on Friday night and Saturday until around 2:30......Josh was painting at his Mom and Dad's and Grandma Di Di was keeping little D! When I picked her up we played for a while and she spit up, which is not uncommon for our little spit up girl! But.....it happened again in the car, then when we got home and each time it became more and more! Finally around 7:00 she threw up for the last time! I ended up holding her until around 9:30ish to make sure the worst had passed! Throw-up is not something I handle well, really who does?? Josh was the clean up man, I cleaned up D! Thankfully it was not that bad and she is on the mend! Delanie will be wearing her Halloween Costume to Gymboree class on Wednesday, so I will post some pics later this week!!!

Still new at this!

Here a few more pics from the party! Delanie with Nana, and Mason blowing out his candles!
Also, Delanie's pic corrected!

Weekend Fun!

On Saturday, my Mom and I took Delanie to have her pic taken in her Halloween Costume. I am posting a pic of the pic......are you with me? She did pretty well and looked of course as cute as a bug.....ha, ha!
That night was our nephew Mason's 5th birthday party! I cannot believe he is 5! He dressed up as Batman for the party! Delanie had fun watching him open his presents and wanted to play with his new toys! Mason's Mommy (Aunt Shelley) made a delicious chocolate pumpkin cake!! We loved it!

Funny side note; I certainly do not win a prize for the Mom of the year award....not that there is one! Friday night, we went to eat at Red Lobster with my parents. Delanie was great, she ate very well and sat in the high chair the whole time! We did notice as we were finishing up eating, Delanie went to the bathroom........you know! No big deal, I would take her to the bathroom on the way out the door! Oh my really does not describe it! Josh picked her up and I immediately knew we had a problem, since I could see poop up to her shoulders! It now on Josh, the boppy seat, and of course all over Delanie! No problem, in the car, I have an emergency tub with extra diapers and clothes.....except for the fact that we were in Josh's truck! So, my Mom and I took Delanie into the bathroom and got her as clean as we could! All of her clothes had to come off, so I put her jacket on (with nothing underneath) and took my jacket off to wrap around her legs!
What an experience.......note to self....have extra clothes in every car!!
